Dr Nilesh Mehta

Interventional Cardiologist

MBBS, FRACP, FCSANZ

“Every patient deserves a precise plan — not a closed door — when complex coronary disease is limiting their life.”

Experience

15+ years focused practice

Case volume

>300 CTO and complex high-risk PCI cases

Special interests

  • CTO PCI and hybrid wire strategies
  • Calcified lesions (lithotripsy & rotablation)
  • IVUS and OCT-guided intervention
  • Left main and high-risk PCI

Dr Nilesh Mehta is an interventional cardiologist with extensive experience in high-volume complex PCI and Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) procedures. He focuses exclusively on advanced coronary intervention at leading Melbourne private hospitals.

His training encompasses hybrid CTO approaches, rotational atherectomy, intravascular lithotripsy, and intravascular imaging. Patients often see Dr Mehta for a second opinion after being told their arteries are “too blocked” or “too calcified” for stents.

Approach to care

Dr Mehta believes complex coronary disease requires both technical expertise and clear communication. He reviews existing angiograms promptly, explains options in plain English, and works with each patient’s private health cover to minimise unexpected costs wherever possible.
